Mateen-bar is the ideal product developed specifically for egineers who are working in environments with demands beyond the abilities of (traditional) steel reinforcement
Installation of mateendowel in Washington State roads.

The state of Washington Department of Transport, Salinas Construction, Sigma Development Group and Pultron Composites have worked together to present this case study on the installation of mateendowel TM in the Washington Interstate I-5; the main Interstate highway on the USA's west coast, which stretches from the Mexican border in the south up to the Canadian border in the north.

mateendowel TM  Advantage:
mateendowel TM have been designed to be the best, high-performance pavement dowels on the market. Suitable for new installations and road repair work retrofit's. They are a direct replacement for steel dowels, without any of the disadvantages.

Corrosion Resistant:
The message is simple: If you don't want rust, don't use steel.
Steel dowels usually rely on a protective coating to offer improved corrosion resistance. With even the best of handling procedures, the epoxy coated steel is easily damaged during installation, leaving the steel core vulnerable to rusting.
The most important criteria for any composite dowel bars are:
• Shear Strength
• Load transfer efficiency
• Longevity
mateendowel TM has been developed to give outstanding performance in each of these categories.
mateendowel TM are based on proven MateenBar technology. They are manufactured by the same process and from the same high quality materials as mateenbar TM composite rebar, ensuring immunity to corrosion. mateendowel TM are perfect for environments where salt is typically applied to roads during the cold winter months.

Lightweight:
mateendowel TM are just one-quarter of the weight of steel dowels, making the dowel baskets easier to handle and installation much faster and cheaper. There are intangible benefits, such as the reduced likelihood of back injuries. A basket (containing 13 dowels) weighs around 24kg's, compared with steel, which are over 60kg's.

Proven History:
mateenbar TM and mateendowel TM stem from a product range with a proven 25 year track-record. mateendowel TM are extensively used in roading applications within particularly corrosive environments.

Price Stability:

Steel prices are subject to international pricing pressures. Due to high energy consumption, increases in the price of oil force steel production costs up. These increases create uncertainty and make it difficult for contractors to plan ahead.
Production of mateendowels TM consumes less energy, so are less subject to fluctuations. Pultron's pricing policy is to ensure maximum price stability.
